Games, games, games. The classics, the average, and the downright awful. We feature them all here for your nostalgic pleasure.
Covered in cobwebs (1980s)
Barbarian Barbarian
Evil sorcery, jock straps, a scantily clad voluptuous maiden in need of rescue and a few decapitations thrown in for good measure. A typical day for a young adolescent circa 1987.
Exile Exile
Arriving late in the BBCs life Exile was technically groundbreaking, innovative, immensely playable, and played by almost nobody. Sound like a Looking Glass (rest in peace) title to you? Well it wasn't - but it was ace!
Elite Elite
1984. Orwellian nightmare or the year one of the greatest games of all time was released. Guess which one I'm interested in.
Elite Holed Out
See you at the 19th ok?
Elite Repton Infinity
The 8-bit conclusion to the Repton series was as much a set of game creation tools as a puzzle game and it pushed its host hardware to the limits.
Strykers Run Stryker's Run
A game best compared to a kebab. Stryker's Run was a popular BBC scrolling shooter released in 1986. It was also the first game to feature enhancements for Acorn's recently released Master 128.
Superior Software Superior Soccer
Football. Its a game of two halves. I take a look at Superior Soccer released on the BBC in 1989, in the process comparing it to Microprose Soccer on the Commodore 64.
Thrust Thrust
A game in which your enemies are the laws of physics

Slightly Dusty Stuff (1990s)
MouseTrek MouseTrek
Not a classic. Not even published. But a game I love all the same. Read on to find out why and listen to me pump up my own ego. Again.
Dune 2 Dune 2
Original gameplay in a sequel, high production values, and a great licence. Unheard of but in this case true!
Rules of Engagement Rules of Engagement
Star Trek's not just for nerds right? RIGHT? Now thats settled I highly recommend checking out Rules of Engagement: a ridiculously detailed starship combat simulator from 1991.
